The Interfaith Centre of Melbourne conducts interfaith services at the Toorak Uniting Church as a recurring event. The next interfaith service will take place on Sunday, Sunday 11 June 2017 at 3pm. A CHAPTER of Australia’s little known military history will be revealed in a booklet to be published by the Australian Sikh Heritage Association later this year.
For 18 months, representatives of around 20 different faith groups have worked to form a Queensland network of faith communities committed to advancing interfaith understanding and collaboration and to making a positive contribution within society.

Every major Australian church has been cautioned to better protect children or risk illegitimacy. In a speech to the National Council of Churches, the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse chairman Justice Peter McClellan urged religious leaders to act on his recommendations.
“What we can be certain of is that any institution which does not acknowledge past wrongs and the need for change will lose the confidence of Australians,” he said via a recorded video.
“The community will not accept the legitimacy of any institution which does not give priority to the safety and wellbeing of the children for which it has responsibility.”
A joint Shoah Memorial Service was held in St Mary’s Crypt on evening of 9 May, 2017. Organised by the NSW Council for Christians and Jews, this event is a time for Interfaith reflection and remembrance.
