Brisbane: Community Trustbuilding
Initiatives of Change recently conducted “Australians Sharing a New Story – towards community trustbuilding” and will deliver a follow-up dialogue on community trustbuilding at Mt Gravatt on 27 March 2020.
Queensland: Australians Sharing a New Story
Initiatives of Change will revisit the Community Trust Building Dialogue event – for the power of personal story-sharing was valued so this time the emphasis will be on small group story sharing. This will take place at the Griffith University Center for Intercultural and Interfaith Dialogue, Nathan Campus, on 14 December 2019 at 3pm.
Victoria: Border Politics Film Night
Border Politics – an Australian documentary which follows Human Rights lawyer Julian Burnside as he examines attitudes to refugees and human migration patterns worldwide – will be screened in Shepparton on evening of Thursday 18 July. Julian Burnside will be present for a Q and A session.
Victoria: Life Still Matters
Initiatives of Change Australia offer a weekend workshop – Life Still Matters – life direction and leadership program is for people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, who are aged 35 and over, from 2 – 5 November 2018.
Queensland: Creators of Peace Circles
Creators of Peace is an international women’s initiative empowering women to be radical peacebuilders. It aims to engage women in their role as creators of peace at every level of society; to pre-empt violence and despair by addressing the roots of conflict in and around us; to encourage and connect existing ‘peace builders’ and to build just, caring and inclusive communities for all. An introduction to Creators of Peace Circles will be offered at Inala Community Hall on Saturday, July 23.
Victoria: Interfaith Dialogue – What is extremism in my Religion?
Initiatives of Change will host a 3 speaker panel and interfaith dialogue examining extremism in religion on Saturday 11 June 2016 at Armagh, Toorak.
Initiatives of Change: Beyond Forgiveness
Initiatives of Change (IofC) is a world-wide movement of people of diverse cultures and backgrounds, who are committed to the transformation of society through changes in human motives and behaviour, starting with their own. Initiatives of Change has a program called Creators of Peace, and a film session “Beyond Forgiving” will be screened in Melbourne.
