Initiatives of Change (IofC) is a world-wide movement of people of diverse cultures and backgrounds, who are committed to the transformation of society through changes in human motives and behaviour, starting with their own. Initiatives of Change has a program called Creators of Peace, and a film session “Beyond Forgiving” will be screened in Melbourne.
One of Initiatives of Change’s programs is Creators of Peace http://www.iofc.org/creators-of-peace. Many women in conflict zones are working with this program because they feel it offers a way to lasting peace, and as an outcome the enhanced capacity to meet the needs of their families, communities and countries.
There have also been many Creators of Peace circles held in Australia which have helped to build bridges of trust across our diverse cultures.
The Melbourne Creators of Peace group are currently planning a very special event for women and men on Monday, 7th May, when a South African, Ginn Fourie, will speak about her profoundly moving experience of forgiveness and reconciliation with the documentary about this, “Beyond Forgiving”.
A fundraising event for Creators of Peace – a women’s empowerment and peacebuilding initiative active
in 43 countries. The main purpose is to assist women from our neighbouring regions in Asia and the
Pacific, to come together for the 25th anniversary of Creators of Peace, ‘Living Peace’ Dialogue, in Caux, Switzerland, August 2016. The Dialogue will allow women to share stories, experiences, skills and tools to become better peacemakers within their communities.
