The Victorian Sikh Gurduaras Council is seeking volunteers to participate in two upcoming events as part of the state government-funded family violence prevention project that was rolled out in late 2019. The project aims to initiate discussions and raise community awareness about the impact of family violence. The project aims to ensure members of the Sikh community feel safe in their home and neighbourhood.
The Victorian Sikhs Gurduaras Council will undertake an online project to work with the Victorian Sikh Community to establish strong foundations for ongoing community work to prevent family violence.
To mark the 550th Parkash Utsav (Birth Anniversary) of Guru Nanak, the Victorian Sikh Gurduaras Council with the support of other Sikh Gurdwaras, Sikh & Australian Organisations and Victorian Sangat will be organizing a Humanity Walk at Flagstaff Gardens on Saturday, 9 November 2019.
