Sikh Focus Group: Preventing Family Violence

Victorian Sikh Gurduaras Council

The Victorian Sikhs Gurduaras Council will undertake an online project to work with the Victorian Sikh Community to establish strong foundations for ongoing community work to prevent family violence.

The Project Steering Group has partnered with Women’s Health in the South East (WHISE) and the University of Melbourne to learn more about ‘what works to build the capacity of faith leaders to prevent, and appropriately respond to, violence against women and family violence. To do this we will be holding a series of focus group discussions and one to one conversations.

About the focus group discussions
Purpose of the focus group discussions are to assist the research team to better understand your experiences of how family violence is viewed in Sikh community, existing prevention of family violence activities and pathways to seek support. We have already facilitated four focus groups and are hosting another two.
