A gentle vigil will be held at 5pm on Saturday 12th July in Rymill Park near the bridge. There, 983 candles will be lit to symbolise the 983 children currently held in indefinite detention.

Twelve people, from the Jewish, Christian, Muslim faiths, embarked on an incredible journey of discovery. They visited each other’s historical sacred places to study and share texts, to listen to each other’s story and to truly ‘meet’ in the City of Jerusalem which is so sacred to all three traditions.

WCC announces September Interfaith Summit on Climate Change
The World Council of Churches (WCC) announced it will hold an Interfaith Summit on Climate Change on September 21-22 in New York City. At the summit, organized together with Religions for Peace, more than 30 religious leaders will take a united stand to encourage international and political leaders to address concretely the causes and consequences of climate change.< /p>

Royal Commission Releases Interim Report
The royal commission investigating institutional responses to child sex abuse has handed down its interim report, but says it has not yet compiled enough information to make any recommendations.
