Religions for Peace first raised the call for Action with the Faiths for Earth program in 2015. Religions for Peace partners with the United Nations Environment Program and the Parliament of the World’s Religions Climate Action to deliver the program, Faiths for Earth – A Call to Action. In this series of articles, Religions for Peace Australia – each month – will present the approach of one of the world’s many religions and its responses to a Call for Action – living in harmony with the Earth.

The President of France, H.E. Francois Hollande, today praised the efforts of campaigners and faith leaders who personally delivered to him a collection of petitions containing over 1.8 million signatures calling for climate justice.
Paris for the People and the Planet: Faith Agencies Event
Deal with it! People, Rights, Justice is the title of the Side Event to be presented at the Paris Climate Change Event on Monday, 7 December. Presenters include Caritas International, Friends of the Earth International and the German Catholic Bishops Development Agency. Pope Francis’ encylical Laudato Si is a foundational document for this session.

Queensland: Nurturing a Spiritual Approach to Climate Change
The Centre for Interfaith & Cultural Dialogue in collaboration with the Australian Earth Laws Alliance will be hosting an information session, which features presentations about ecocentrism and ecospirituality from Earth Jurispurdence perspectives, in addition to perspectives from many faith traditions. This event also features open space and small group discussions. This event will take place on Tuesday, 23 June at Griffith University.
