Western Australia: Deep Rest – Weekend Meditation Retreat

The Cambodian Buddhist Society of WA will conduct a retreat at Serpentine with Venerable Amaranatho, a wandering Buddhist monk on the weekend commencing Friday 17 October. The theme of the retreat is “Resting in Uncertainty”.

This retreat will give you a opportunity to explore what rest feels like as a embodied experience. As the body relaxes by being nourished with good food, beautiful surroundings and acceptance; we can start to recognize peace, develop compassion and respond rather than react to our busy lives. We encourage you to bring an attitude of curiosity, playfulness and willingness to look wholeheartedly at yourself. This will be supported by a community atmosphere of trust, openness and an encouragement to recognize the freedom of the heart.

Venerable Amaranatho is a wandering Buddhist monk meeting the needs of the modern world, while offering the timeless teaching of the Buddha in culturally appropriate ways. Whether you encounter him in a workshop, retreat or personally, his approach is to respond to the situation as it unfolds. He facilitates a safe space enabling you to recognize your own wisdom, through co-exploration, playfulness, and love. He is interested in finding ways of being authentic while recognizing that everything is already okay.
