From the high mountains to the sea: Tibetans in Australia will share their stories of separation and survival.

Australia is home to a small yet strong community of Tibetans. Many have lived under China’s oppressive rule and have fled their homeland seeking freedom in a new country. Many are born in exile. All remain deeply connected to Tibet.

The ancient culture of Tibet is under threat. The Tibetan people are marginalised in their own country. Their natural resources are exploited and their rights taken away by force and intimidation. But the Tibetans are a courageous, resilient people. For over 60 years, they have shown the world that they believe the way to resolve conflict is through compassion and nonviolent resistance.

Listen to their personal stories of hope, courage and resistance.

The live storytelling event is part of our project “Our Tibet Story”. By using the power of the personal stories and the internet, this project will deepen understanding of the broader issues facing Tibet today and generate hope for its future.
