Jerusalem

There is a special interview this coming Sunday 24th August on Radio National at 6pm. Seven of the ‘Joint Journey to Jerusalem’ participants were interviewed by Rachael Kohn for her program on Radio National, ‘The Spirit of Things’. Religions for Peace Executive Member Di Hirsh was one of the participants on this journey.

In August twelve people from the Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths, travelled to Jerusalem together and from these three faiths found common ground and explored the light and shadow sides of their relationships.

The interview will be on this Sunday at 6pm and repeated on Tuesday at 1pm. The frequency of Radio National in Melbourne is 621AM.

You may listen to the program or download the audio of the program itself on The Spirit of Things website.

Program Overview

When you take religion seriously it unites rather than divides humanity, according to the 12 Jews, Christians and Muslims who travelled from Melbourne on a Joint Journey to Jerusalem. Rabbi Adam Stein, Fr Dr John Dupuche, and Sheik Riad Galil and 9 others shared in each other’s holy places, sacred texts and personal experiences of faith. At a time of increased political tensions in Israel and the Middle East generally, they came away with further understanding, friendships and a firm commitment to interfaith dialogue.
