The Mornington Peninsula Interfaith Festival will have a them ‘A Celebration of Diversity’, honouring the social fabric which makes up the Mornington Peninsula community on Sunday, June 8th 2014.
On Sunday June 8th 2014, the Mornington Peninsula community will come together to celebrate at the Mornington Peninsula Interfaith Festival. This annual festival is a celebration of diversity through music, dance, art, workshops and food – a celebration of multifaith, a celebration of multiculturalism, a celebration of community, and a celebration of our unique indigenous history.
This year’s theme ‘A Celebration of Diversity’, honours the social fabric which makes up our community. Particular recognition will be given by the Order of Australia Regional Group to Probus Clubs on the Mornington Peninsula for the contribution their members have made to our diverse community.
Join in the festivities and take part in many exciting activities:
- Ignite your sense of adventure with African Drumming and Dancing, Choir Singing, Shake-Rattle and Roll and Laughter Yoga.
- Enjoy a Multicultural concert which includes Aboriginal WhaleSinging, Chinese Lion Dancing, Burundi & Senegal Drumming, Ghanese Dancing, Zimbabwean Choir Singing, and a Venezuelan ensemble.
- Watch artists display their oil, pastel, watercolour paintings and drawings, and demonstrate their craft of embroidery and crochet.
- Observe as faith leaders come together in the spirit of peace to offer blessings to the community.
- View multicultural and multifaith stands and enjoy delicious food.
Come and celebrate in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Bring your entire family as there will be special activities for the kids.
Festival is FREE and commences 12:30pm till 5:30pm.
