Religion and the University – a one day seminar exploring religious studies in the university.

This seminar will explore religious studies in the university, both historic and continuing, with a view to forming a support network or affiliation for ongoing teaching, research and pastoral activities on campus and online.

The discussion will include:

The importance of various aspects of religion in academic scholarship, particularly secular studies, such as medicine and law

How Australian universities engage an increasingly multicultural student body, and the need to be increasingly sensitive toward religion

The valuable social services faith-based institutions offer in Australia
