At 11am on 11 November 1918 the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. This is commemorated every year in Australia with Remembrance Day events at cenotaphs in every village, town and city. Remembrance Day is a significant memorial in the life of Australia as a nation. Vatican: Abrahamic Religions Celebrate Anniversary of Nostra Aetate
On the anniversary of the promulgation of Nostra Aetate, leaders and representatives of the three main Abrahamic religions were received at the Vatican City, Apostolic Palace, by Pope Francis to commend the joint statement regarding the Preservation of the Sanctity of Human Life convened by the President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, Msgr. Vincenzo Paglia.
Showing Up: Bystander Intervention Program
As part of the Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Action Plan, the Victorian Government is supporting key organisations to deliver community-led responses to Islamophobia and Antisemitism. This project is a collaborative initiative by the Jewish Community Council of Victoria (JCCV), Australian Intercultural Society (AIS), Australian Union of Jewish Students (AUJS) and Benevolence Australia who have formed a united body aimed at addressing these issues. The final program in this series will be at Brimbank Community Centre on Wednesday 30 October, 2019.

On 18 October 2019, the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity (PCPCU) presented the official Catholic Response to The Church: Towards a Common Vision (TCTCV), Faith and Order Paper No.214, published in 2013. Passing through many intermediate stages, the TCTCV is the result of two decades of intense theological work prepared by Orthodox, Anglican, Protestant, Evangelical, Pentecostal and Roman Catholic theologians.
