NSW: The LGBTQ+ experience in the Jewish community

LGBTIQ+ FlagThe NSW Board of Deputies will host a Panel Discussion and Q&A on the topic of The LGBTQ+ experience in the Jewish community at the Sydney Jewish Museum on evening of Tuesday 17 March 2020.

Panel discussion and Q&A

The experience of LGBTQ+ people in the Sydney Jewish community has been varied, ranging from complete rejection to enthusiastic celebration.

After the success of the marriage equality ‘Yes’ vote, the movement for greater acceptance of LGBTQ+ people within the Jewish community is growing.

Yet recent studies show four out of five LGBTQ+ people say they feel worse now than they did after the ‘Yes’ vote on same-sex marriage. What further changes are needed?

Panellists include Dr Kerryn Phelps, Jackie Stricker-Phelps, Bruria Hammer, Danielle Meltzer and the President of Sydney’s Jewish LGBTQ+ group Dayenu, Jonathan David.

This will be an all-inclusive gathering and we encourage members of the community to attend.
