Associate Professor Nasir Butrous will speak on the topic: Ethnicity, Religions and Harmony: Exploring Christian Muslim Relations in Iraq Today

Religions for Peace Victoria and Monash Chaplaincy would like to invite you to a UN Interfaith Harmony Week Event on Thursday 12th February 2015 from 5.30-7.30pm

Associate Professor Nasir Butrous will deliver a public lecture on Ethnicity, Religions and Harmony: Exploring Christian Muslim Relations in Iraq Today.

Professor Desmond Cahill OAM – Chair, Religions for Peace Victoria / Australia will chair a panel after the address.

Associate Professor Nasir Butrous is a Chaldean Catholic and a native of the city of Mosul (Biblical Nineveh) in Iraq. He is the Associate Professor of Management at the Australian Catholic University-Faculty of Law and Business in Melbourne. Nasir was previously a member of the Commission for Ecumenical and Interfaith Relationships in the Archdiocese of Brisbane. He has regularly spoken on his perspective on Islam from his lived experience of Catholic–Muslim relations both in Iraq and in Australia.

Light refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the lecture
