Calm in the City have been holding daily Days of Peace meditations in the anticipation of UN World Day of Peace. To close off the 100 Days of Peace meditations held every evening (8.30-9.00pm AEST) in the run up to UN Peace Day, you are especially invited to join us for a culmination event.

UN International Day of Peace – Calm in the City
The theme of this year’s UN Peace Day is “Actions for Peace”. Calm in the City invite you to join them on the morning of International Day of Peace, 21 September 2023. Two other events – on this international day – are notified, one by the Charter for Compassion Australia, and one by Brahma Kumaris.
Queensland: International Day of Peace
During the Season of Creation, St John’s Cathedral in Brisbane hosts Professor Gillian Triggs, former chair of the Australian Human Rights Commission, who will deliver the 2020 International Day of Peace lecture, “Shaping Peace Together” co-hosted by the University of Queensland Rotary Peace Centre and the United Nations Association of Australia. Professor Triggs will deliver the lecture from Geneva – a youtube video of the lecture is given.
UN International Day of Peace
UN International Day of Peace this year occurs on Saturday 21 September 2019. This year’s theme draws attention to the importance of combating climate change as a way to protect and promote peace throughout the world. In the lead up to the International Day of Peace on 21 September, the United Nations calls upon all to take action to tackle climate change. Every human is part of the solution – from turning off the lights to taking public transport, to organising an awareness raising campaign in your community. The Theme is Climate Action for World Peace
