Faith Over Fear


Today Religions for Peace, UNICEF and a global coalition of religious leaders are launching #FaithOverFear. Faith Over Fear is a global campaign to inspire people of all faiths to welcome and help refugees. The campaign will share a series of stories about families of faith from around the world who have opened their hearts, homes, and communities to refugees. By lifting up these heartwarming examples, Religions for Peace hopes to contribute to a more welcoming environment for refugees around the globe.

Queensland: Community leaders in show of support for Bundaberg’s Muslims

A GROUP of community leaders has vowed to stand strong in support of Muslims in Bundaberg. More than 20 leaders came together at Buss Park yesterday to speak out against ignorance and intolerance. Among the group were religious leaders of different religious denominations as well as leaders of Bundaberg’s Muslim community.

NSW: Uniting Church expresses support for Newcastle Mosque

newcastleThe Hunter Presbytery of the Uniting Church in Australia as well as individual congregations and church members, have written letters in support of plans for a new mosque in Newcastle. The long-held trust and friendship between the region’s Christian and Muslim communities has provided a point of difference to anti-Islamic rhetoric surrounding the proposal.
