The University of Melbourne invites asylum seekers in our community to attend a lecture series. During October and November we will host lectures on important issues in modern and historical Australia, including education, human rights, equality, health and Indigenous cultures.
We hope that this series will be an interesting introduction to Australian society and the University of Melbourne. Time will be set aside for discussion of topics and to talk with lecturers, students and others.
This is not a formal course and will not lead to a recognised award. Participation will not impact on immigration status and we are unable to assist with immigration matters. All lectures will be conducted in English and are free to attend. No registration is required. Food and drink will be provided.
