2014 Report, Western Australia

Religions for Peace Australia

Religions for Peace Australia is taking steps to assist with the formation of a branch in Western Australia and to auspice interfaith dialogue and public events in that state. Already, two such events have occurred, and the Chair of Religions for Peace Australia, Prof. Des Cahill, travelled to Perth to participate in the UN observance of the International Day of Peace on Sunday 22 September and to initiate the formation of RfP, Western Australia Branch.

First of all I would like to thank both you and the RfP members for your united generous support, guidance and faith in me, it was greatly appreciated.

I unfortunately have only two events to contribute, however as one of your member have already mentioned there are many valuable programs happening/happened in Perth.

Major Religions and secular faiths all wish to make a difference in our society and the time will come, when we cease to be completely segregated and unite and work in close harmony as an interconnected family of faiths.

21 September 2013; International Day of Peace

We were most fortunate to have a Chair: Professor Desmond Cahill RfP and President Carolyne Gatward UNAAWA in the midst of our gathering.

It was pleasing to see the participants joining together and donated invaluable peace prayers, songs, poems and dances. What was particularly pleasing was our youth’s contribution of zeal and enthusiasm…. even from the very young age of three

.

We feel that the program mirrored a cohesive, peaceful and harmonious vibration that certainly helped and sustained the world in general.

Second Interfaith Gathering was held on Harmony Day; 23 February 2014

The Universal Brotherhood kindly volunteered to organize this event in cooperation with other faiths .All the participants happily shared their views on harmony which preceded the international games, dances, music and delicious supper in an atmosphere of total friendship totally forgetting what type of individual cloaks we are wearing.

Many thanks to all the members of RfP for supporting us with your gracious good wishes and blessings.
with kind regards; Eva
