Victoria: Wayapa and Aboriginal Spirituality



In observance of NAIDOC week, Wyndham Interfaith Network will conduct An introduction to Wayapa and Aboriginal Spirituality at the Wyndham Community Education Centre, Werribee, on Saturday 7 July 2018.


 

An introduction to Aboriginal Spiritual connection with the environment. Wayapa combines mindfulness, traditional Aboriginal movements and a narrative meditation in a series of 14 elements to teach participants the importance of connecting into the earth and nature for holistic wellness.

Wayapa – Earth Mind Body Spirit Wellness, Aboriginal Way

Created by Jamie Thomas, the practice of Wayapa combines mindfulness, traditional Aboriginal movements and a narrative meditation in a series of 14 elements to teach participants the importance of connecting into the earth and nature for holistic wellness.

Some of the features of Wayapa:

  • Shares Aboriginal culture in an interactive and positive way;
  • Reconnects people to this country and their spirit;
  • Creates physical, mental and spiritual well-being;
  • Can be practised anywhere;
  • Anyone of any physical ability can do it, anywhere;
  • Teaches the importance of caring for country.
