Greetings of peace!
Happy UN International Women’s Day! Spare a thought for all the contributions given to the faith traditions by women and for the safety of women everywhere. It was not so long ago that the UN statistics showed that soldiers in a theatre of war were safer than ordinary women in their own houses and neighbourhoods around the world.
Greetings of peace!
For our event this month, we’ll join in the event shared by Rosalind:
THE 2018 HOBART PALM SUNDAY RALLY JUSTICE FOR REFUGEES
Sunday 25th March 2018, Parliament Gardens, 2-3pm.
We hope that people from all faith groups, community organisations and unions will join the Palm Sunday Rally for Refugees, bringing banners and other messages of support to demonstrate that there are growing concerns across the Australian community about:
- The illegal, harsh and punitive treatment of refugees and asylum seekers in Australian detention centres on the islands of Manus & Nauru in New Guinea;
- Including intolerable over-crowding; Lack of adequate medical treatment and avoidable deaths;
- An increasing environment of despair & crises; A culture of secrecy by the Australian Government on what’s really happening at the Detention Centres;
- Over 30,000 refugees are living on Bridging Visas in our Australian community with their futures in limbo.

Interfaith Minister’s Retreat
From Rev Shari Landeg in Launceston
Tasmania will once again host Interfaith ministers from around Australia and New Zealand, who arrive in the state on March 8 for their third, annual Sacred Sabbatical. Following their arrival, the ministers will be Welcomed to Country by well known and respected Aboriginal Elder, Aunty Patsy Cameron who will also conduct a smoking and ochre ceremony.
With retreats alternating between Australia and New Zealand, this year’s will once again be held over five days, at Deviot on the banks of the Tamar River. It offers ministers an invaluable time for deep spiritual and religious practice, personal growth and professional development, while strengthening community ties and connections between the two countries.

Swami Parmananda:
Dear Friends:
Pranam!
Last year, 26 of us Yatris had a wonderful Kailash pilgrimage. For those wishing to participate in the Holy Yatra this year (via Nepal/Lhasa), the pilgrimage to Kailash/Manasarovar will be held from 19 August to 3 September 2018. Bookings are required before Saturday 31 March 2018.
The Lhasa route is the best one at the moment by which we have gone thrice now. There are 2 flights at present but the frequency may increase in future. So the earlier we book the tour the better. Delay in confirming the Tour may result in higher airfares.
Havan will performed on the banks of Lake Manasarovar.
Every morning & evening Bhajan, Kirtan & Satsang on a Upanishad or some other sublime text. We contemplated on Ashtavakra Gita (2017), Aparoksha Anubhuti i.e Direct Experience (2014), Jeevanmuktananda Lahiri i.e Song of Liberation (2012) & Atma Bodha i.e Self Knowing (2002).
