Public Lecture on Interreligious Dialogue

The Centre for Inter-Religious Dialogue at ACU, Melbourne, will hold a public lecture on Committment and Openness in Inter-religious Dialogue on June 19. The guest speaker will be Prof. Catherine Cornille.

Prior to joining the faculty at Boston College, Cornille taught for ten years in the Department of Theology at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. She has been a visiting professor at Kandai University, Japan; at the University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands; and at King’s College, London. She has also taught courses at the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester and at Weston School of Theology.

A native of Belgium, Cornille joined Boston College in 2005. In 2010, she became the first woman to chair the University’s Theology Department. She previously was an associate professor of Religious Studies at the Catholic University of Leuven, where she was the first female theologian to be named to the 500-year-old university’s teaching staff.
