Western Australia: Multifaith Network Meets

On 25 May 2017, The Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Interests, Paul Papalia CSC MLA, has met with 20 members of the Multifaith Network to discuss the importance of faith leadership in WA at the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple.

Faith leaders in Western Australia came together at the Multifaith Network gathering on Wednesday at Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple to discuss importance of faith leadership, multiculturalism and and social cohesion. This event was part of activities organised by the Office of Multicultural Interests.

As mentioned in the meeting, the SBS will be hosted a networking event on Wednesday 7 June in Perth. The focus of the event was on how the media reflects, recognises and celebrates diversity. This event was a good opportunity to discuss the challenges around media recognition of the work of faith communities that were raised at the earlier meeting Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple on 25th of May.
