The Buddhist Council of Victoria invites you to: Buddha Dhamma , Wisdom and Compassion – Bringing Communities Together – 20th Anniversary Celebration

In 2017, the Buddhist Council of Victoria (BCV) marks its 20 year milestone in serving the community and is having a celebration. This event is to bring the Buddhist community and friends together, to share the journey of the BCV and to celebrate its achievements. It is also an opportunity to raise important funds for the BCV.

The program includes:

  • Pindabata – traditional alms round and food offering for the monastics
  • Vegetarian lunch to raise funds for the BCV
  • Dhamma sessions covering :
    • Spiritual care as spiritual practice
    • Harmony in the family
    • Dhamma in the 21st century
  • Temple tour
  • Meditation workshops
  • Children’s program
  • Official Launch of the “Buddhism in Victoria” website

The theme for the event is “Buddha Dhamma, Wisdom and Compassion Bringing Communities Together”. This event is a family day for Buddhists and friends and is open to all. We would like to highlight the many different cultures and lineages that come under the umbrella of Buddhism. In order for us to achieve the aim of showing the diversity within Buddhism we would like to invite your temple to participate in any of the following:

  1. Provide BCV with photos and giving BCV the permission to use the photos to produce a video and a commemorative magazine that highlights the progress of temples, devotees, images and ceremonies.
  2. Temples are offered opportunities to have their own room to conduct meditation workshops
  3. Space will be provided for you to display your brochures and displays you may have to help promote your temple
  4. Take up a vegetarian food stall to help raise funds for the BCV
  5. Volunteers to manage and run the program
  6. Share the message with your members and friends to attend the event
