Professor Francis X. Clooney will deliver a public lecture on ‘Engaging the Inter-religious Possibilities of the Twenty-first Century’ at the Australian Catholic University, Melbourne Campus, on Wednesday, 25 July 2012.

Professor Francis X. Clooney S.J., a distinguished international scholar in the field of comparative theology and Director of the Centre for the Study of World Religions at Harvard University, will soon be visiting Australia as a Distinguished Visiting Research Fellow of the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy, Australian Catholic University.

Professor Clooney’s primary areas of research relate to the Sanskrit and Tamil traditions of Hindu India.

An elected Fellow of the prestigious British Academy of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Clooney is also Parkman Professor of Divinity at Harvard Divinity School.

Prof. Clooney will give a Public Lecture entitled, ‘Engaging the Inter-religious Possibilities of the Twenty-first Century‘, to be held on Wednesday July 25, between 5:30 – 7:15 pm, at the Christ Lecture Theatre, Australian Catholic University (115 Victoria Parade, Fitzroy Victoria 3065).

The lecture will conclude with the conferral of a Honorary Doctorate.
