Yom HaShoah – Holocaust Remembrance Day

Triumph of Survival

The Jewish Community Council of Victoria in collaboration with The Holocaust Museum is presenting a specially produced webinar to commemorate Yom HaShoah online, 7 April 2021 at 7:30pm.

This year the JCCV is presenting a specially produced webinar to commemorate Yom HaShoah. With the uncertainty of changing Covid restrictions, to protect our most vulnerable seniors and encourage their participation with family members, the JCCV Executive decided at this time, an online commemoration would encourage multi-generational connection in a safe and inclusive environment.

The heartfelt reflections of six Survivors of the Holocaust, joined by their children and grandchildren will highlight their determination, commitment and Triumph of Survival in Melbourne. We believe their individual messages will contribute to a moving, passionate and important remembrance for our community and all Victorians.

The webinar will also include respected narrators, Lena Fiszman and Michael Cohen, the Sholem Alecheim College Choir, Students from Jewish Day Schools and UJEB, music by Matan Franco and Kaddish by Rabbi Philip Heilbrunn OAM.

We thank all members of the JCCV Yom HaShoah Committee for working so tirelessly on delivering a meaningful and inclusive commemoration in a virtual format, whilst ensuring an engaging and personal reflection of individual Holocaust experiences leading to their Triumph of Survival.

We encourage you to register your attendance to join the Yom HaShoah Commemoration on Wednesday 7 April at 7.30pm.
