I’ve only been able to include information which I’ve been able to receive. My email is having issues, as they say, and bouncing everything back at the moment. I’m very sorry if this has happened to emails from you.

Shia Commemoration of the Martyrdom of Imam Husain
This is an invitation from the Shia Association of Tasmania to all communities to join us to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain. Imam Husain was killed in Karbala (a city of Iraq) because he stood up against injustice and the people in power.
We will gather in Parliament House gardens on Saturday 17 October 1.30-4.00pm and remember his sacrifice.
We would be very happy to see people from all other communities as Imam Hussain did not sacrifice for Muslims only but for all humanity.
Best regards

City of Hobart Australia Day Awards
We know that so many Multicultural and Faith Communities have been working very hard supporting their members during the difficulties of 2020. The Australia Day Awards are a wonderful opportunity for the mainstream community to learn about and acknowledge the activities of multicultural and faith communities.
Nominations for the Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, and Community Event of the Year will close soon on Wednesday 28 October.
The Australia Day Awards are a great opportunity to recognise young people, adults, and/or groups who are making a difference to the Hobart community, inspiring and supporting others, and strengthening community.
It only takes one nomination for a person or group to be considered for the award. Please nominate and encourage your network to nominate too!
Please visit www.hobartcity.com.au/AusDayAwards for more information and to access an online nomination form or to print a downloadable one. Nomination forms can also be picked up from the Hobart Council Centre, 16 Elizabeth St.
Please spread the word and do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions.
