Hindu Dharma Ambassador Course
The Hindu Council of Australia in collaboration with the Hindu American Foundation is offering an online course for Hindus to become Dharma Ambassadors and represent Hinduism cogently to family, friends and the community. The course – online – is free and commences on 28th November 2020, 10am to noon.
NSW Ecumenical Council – Interfaith Commission Report
The NSW Ecumenical Council gives report on its activities, and in particular, the activities of its Interfaith Commission over the past 12 months. The NSW Ecumenical Council welcomes the NSW Government in easing the restrictions for more congregants to attend their local church and faith communities. Some interfaith activities were held face to face, others were conducted digitally.
Submissions relating to the Anti-Discrimination Amendment Bill 2020 (NSW)
The Australian Muslim Advocacy Network (AMAN) has made a joint submission today relating to the Anti-Discrimination Amendment (Religious Freedoms and Equality) Bill 2020 (Bill). The submission supports the introduction of laws protecting against discrimination directed at a person based on their religious belief or activity.

Auburn Gallipoli Mosque granted coronavirus exemption for 400 people to celebrate Eid-al-Adha
Auburn Gallipoli Mosque has been granted an exemption to hold Eid-al-Adha prayers. NSW Health said exemptions were only granted in “exceptional circumstances”. It said the mosque had a thorough COVID-19 Safety Plan. The mosque will split attendees into four areas, with no more than 100 in each.

International Yoga Day is celebrated worldwide on 21 June of each year. Yoga is an ancient tradition which has many applications. Individuals practice yoga all over the world, and gain benefit the asana poses and excercises bestow. Other forms of yoga still the mind within, and grant inner peace and stillness. The United Nations proclaimed International Day of Yoga in 2014. The day is growing in popularity each year. This year, due Coronavirus and lockdown in various nations, there may be some restrictions on mass public yoga events.

Catholic masses in Sydney to be limited to 100
Catholic masses in Sydney will be limited to only 100 people, in advice from Archbishop Anthony Fisher. Parishes have been allowed to offer additional celebrations in order that the faithful may attend worship.
