NSW: Buddhist Sangha Forum

Australian Sangha Association LogoThe Australian Sangha Association in collaboration with the Buddhist Council of New South Wales will conduct a forum on Buddhist issues at the Buddhist Library, 90-92 Church Street, Camperdown on 18 October 2019 at 1:30pm.


The ASA in partnership with the Buddhist Council of New South Wales invites you to join us for a conversation and opportunity for information sharing about issues of interest to you and your communities. We will offer a short overview of policies and issues we are currently working on and seek to help you where possible, with any concerns you may have.

Current issues and projects: Liaising with ATO & ACNC on charity concessions & endorsements for religious orgs; Providing a Buddhist voice on religious freedom; Review ASA Constitution to comply with NSW Associations Act Regulations 2016; Conflict Resolution/ Mediation support for monastics; Wellbeing of members, aged care support and Advanced Care Planning; Buddhist Chaplaincy in the Australian Defence Forces; Reaching NESB Buddhist communities through use of translators and interpreters; Reviewing BCNSW membership – adding new categories (Friends of BCNSW); Continuing to develop chaplaincy and SRE programs and supports; Attracting and supporting volunteers; Consider the financial sustainability of BCNSW; Helping communities to meet State legislation on child safety.
