NSW: Muslim leaders visit Parramatta Cathedral

In an expression of support for Christians after the bombing attacks on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka, the Grand Mufti of Australia, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamed and fellow Muslim leaders and representatives visited Bishop Vincent, Fr Chris and their congregation at St Patrick’s Cathedral in Parramatta on Tuesday, 30 April.

To express solidarity with the Catholic community after the bombing attacks on Catholic Churches in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, the Grand Mufti of Australia Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohamed, with leaders of the local Muslim community, visited Bishop Vincent, Fr Chris, and Fr Peter and their congregation at St Patrick’s Cathedral in Parramatta on Tuesday, 30 April.

Together, Bishop Vincent and Dr Ibrahim shared a moment of silence reflecting and praying for the victims of religious persecution, while also offering words of peace. They also placed a wreath on the altar and lit candles to remember those lost or injured in the attack. We are grateful at the Centre to have also shared this friendship and care from our Muslim brothers and sisters on the day.
