World Interfaith Harmony Week

The Universal Peace Federation and the Griffith University Multi-Faith Centre warmly invite you to an event at 6:30pm on Thursday, 6th February 2014 in honour of the UN World Interfaith Harmony Week.

This United Nations initiative promotes of a culture of peace and non-violence, promotes religious and cultural understanding, harmony and cooperation, promotes interreligious and intercultural dialogue, understanding and cooperation for peace and the elimination of all forms of intolerance and discrimination based on religion or belief. It recognises the imperative need for dialogue among different faiths and religions in enhancing mutual understanding, harmony and cooperation among people and it recognises that the moral imperatives of all religions, convictions and beliefs call for peace, tolerance and mutual understanding.

The program will includes a unique ceremony symbolising the harmony of faiths and an open discussion with religious leaders on “How does your faith contribute to interfaith harmony“. Please find attached the flyer with details about this year’s theme.
