The July Multifaith Association of South Australia Meeting for November was held on 25th November at the Unitarian Church in Norwood
Meeting for November was held on 25th November at the Unitarian Church in Norwood. Thank you to Rob McPherson, the church Pastor and Gunhild for enabling us to meet in the church and to make this possible.
- Our Symposium was financially sound, even to the point of making a small amount of profit
- Our website will be looked at and updated. Some of the committee are forming a subgroup to look into this with help from Alex Ranse, an IT/Website expert
- I gave a report about the Regional URI meeting in Cambodia where youth leadership and care of the environment were “common threads” to be prioritized in all the Cooperation Circles in the South East Asia Pacific region of United Religions Initiative
- The theme for the 2013 symposium will be ‘Unity in Diversity’.
Possible projects for the new year included empowering youth programs, multifaith bread meetings for sharing together over food, a silent walk/ bush tucker walk, reviving our Faith Friendly Charter, establishing a reading group for discussing books or Ted Talks
Our Annual Picnic was held at Botanic Park immediately after a Symposium group meeting. The weather was perfect and all present enjoyed talking and eating together. The only downside was the lack of parking on such a pleasant day!
Some members attended the annual Australia Day Celebration held with the Governor of South Australia on Saturday, January 26th. Damian represented our association by delivering an invocation/prayer.
