Climate Talanoa

Climate Talanoa Climate solidarity: Talanoa with Climate activists from Tuvalu and Kiribati. This is a collaboration between Edmund Rice Center with Uniting Mission and Education (UME) and Rodger Page Congregation (Auburn Parish) NSW & ACT Synod, Uniting Church in Australia.


YOU ARE ALL WELCOME to a talanoa event (forum, workshop) at which climate activists from Tuvalu and Kiribati will share their talanoa and invite engagement around the following matters:

• Struggles with the impacts of Climate change in their home (is)lands
• The capacities of indigenous / Pasifika folx to survive and to be resilient
• Opportunities for folx in the cluster of islands now known as Australia to be in solidarity with neighboring climate affected (is)lands

From Tuvalu

• Marion Fuasou (33, she/her), Project & Climate Change Officer at Tuvalu Climate Alliance Network (TuCAN)

and from Kiribati

• Miriam Moriati (21, she/her), President of Kiribati Rotaract Youth Club
• Rabwena Ieete (24, he/him), Climate change activist and volunteer at Tungaru Climate Alliance
