Transformation and tranquility in a time of adversity

In observance of World Interfaith Harmony Week, convened at the close of the month of interfaith celebrations around the world, the Committee of Religious NGOs at the UN, which has been bringing religious, spiritual, moral, and ethical perspectives to the UN since the 1970s, invites representatives across faith and spiritual traditions to come together, in prayer and reflection, to share perspectives on how, in this continuously difficult pandemic moment, we can avoid backsliding on the 2030 agenda, and align together in the spirit of interfaith partnership to take collective action for sustainable development and ensure that our efforts can bring forth transformation within ourselves and then within communities we serve, transcendence of the challenges we face, and tranquility as we strive to build back better, and ensure resilience among the most vulnerable within our communities. In addition to representatives from diverse global faith and spiritual traditions, the event will also invite high-level representatives from the United Nations to highlight the importance of working together with religions to advance the 2030 agenda in a time of adversity.
