The Australian Fatwa Council has received several queries in relation to taking the COVID-19 vaccination and test while fasting in the month of Ramadan. An advice is given for those who are fasting.

The Australian Fatwa Council has received several queries in relation to taking the COVID-19 vaccination and test while fasting in the month of Ramadan.
According to medical experts and advise, the COVID-19 vaccine does not contain any nutrients and since it’s not taken orally it will not break your fast.
In relation to undergoing a COVID-19 test, this also does not break the fast regardless of whether that test is done through the nose or mouth.
