Queensland: Women’s Night of Spirituality

With great pleasure, we can offer you a unique experience of our Annual Women’s Night of Spirituality. Sr Angela Mary Doyle RSM AO will speak about her journey leaving the warmth of her large family in Ireland to being a novice teacher of impressionable young Australian school children before being selected to train as a nurse to take on numerous and challenging roles that eventually led her to be the Administrator of the Mater Hospitals in Brisbane. Sr Angela has witnessed ground-breaking medical advances, viral outbreaks, political intrigues and the enormous generosity of generations of people who have served andcontributed to the healthcare of Queenslanders.

Accompanying Sr Angela Mary is Dr Sr Maeve Louise Heaney VDMF who will perform her own musical items especially chosen for the occasion. Sr Maeve is a theologian, musician and composer. She has worked in Spain, England, Ireland, Italy and Australia leading schools of evangelization, spiritual exercises and teaching theology. She writes and presents on themes of theological aesthetics, music and spirituality, and is currently lecturing in Systematic Theology at ACU and at Holy Spirit Provincial Seminary, QLD.

The evening will be hosted by our very own Robyn Emerson, who will unpack the stories of these 2 exceptional women.
