The Religions for Peace Tasmania Branch Interfaith Gathering for June will gather at MONA, Main Rd. Berriedale, on Monday 8 June, Queen’s Birthday, from 2.00-3.30pm to celebrate UN World Environment Day.
The Religions for Peace Tasmania Branch Interfaith Gathering for May will be to join in with the Symphony of Peace Prayers, this year to be held on Saturday 16 May from 2.00pm at Windsong, 452 Strip Road, Little Swanport.

Religions for Peace Tasmania Branch Interfaith Gathering for April will be held on Tuesday 7 April 2015 at 2.00pm at Little Frying Pan Island, Berriedale, a place very special to the Aboriginal people of Tasmania and one that continues to play a special part in the Reconciliation process. We will be led by Kris Schaffer.
Religions for Peace Tasmania Branch Interfaith Gathering for this March 2015 is entitled ‘Sharing Story and Ceremony‘ is in honour of International Women’s Day. It will be held on the East Coast of Tasmania on 14 March.
Our first activity this year will be in combination with Ven. Thay Thong Phap and the Buddhist Chaplaincy at UTAS to share information about faiths and interfaith programs at UTAS Market Day on Tuesday 24 February 11am-2pm in the TUU Building, Churchill Ave., Sandy Bay.
As part of Human Rights Week 2014, Religions for Peace (Tas Branch) will host a Multifaith gathering entitled ‘Faiths Respecting Refugees’ on Sunday 30 November 2.30-4.00pm at the UTAS Multifaith Centre, TUU Building, Churchill Ave, Sandy Bay. This will be the last gathering for 2014.
The keynote speaker will be Fr Shammi Perera, originally from Sri Lanka, now the chaplain caring for refugees, based at St Mary’s Cathedral, Hobart. The Karen choir from Myanmar will also join us, as will a number of speakers from different faiths, sharing the wisdom of their traditions with respect to caring for refugees.
The November gathering of Religions for Peace (Tas Branch) will be held on Sunday 30 November 2.30-4.00pm at the UTAS Multifaith Centre, TUU Building, Churchill Ave, Sandy Bay. The event will be part of Human Rights Week and will be entitled ‘Faiths Respecting Refugees’.

The October gathering of Religions for Peace Tasmania Branch will be held (not in our normal meeting place because it’s Seniors Week and every place is booked out) at the Brahma Kumaris Meditation Centre, 51 Risdon Rd, New Town (cnr Bell St). The gathering will be on Tuesday 14 October from 12.15-1.15pm.
Bob Faser from the Uniting Church and the Liaison Officer for Tasmanian Council of Churches will come to speak about Emergency Ministries training.
Religions for Peace Tasmania will be celebrating the UN International Day of Peace with an interfaith gathering entitled: A Mosaic of Light: The Colour of Peace.
The gathering will be held at UTAS Multifaith Centre, downstairs in the TUU Building (off the carpark), Churchill Ave, Sandy Bay Campus, from 2-4pm on Sunday 21 September 2014.
Religions for Peace Tasmania August gathering will be from 12.15-1.15pm on Tuesday 12 August 2014 at Criterion House, Mathers Lane (AKA CWL annexe of 50 and Better Centre), 108 Bathurst St. Hobart.
Religions for Peace Tasmania reports on its activities for the year past, and its plans for the future. The well regarded “Walking Humbly” series of events is set to make a return.
Religions for Peace Tasmania July gathering will be held at Mathers House (AKA 50 and Better Centre) Mathers Lane, Hobart on 8 July 2014 in the CWA room across the walkway, from 12.15 – 1.15pm.
