The Empathy Initiative is a group of like-minded academics and practitioners with a strong belief in the power and potential of empathy to change lives and improve the quality of care provided to patients/clients/residents. University of Technology Sydney will conduct an Empathy Symposium preceded by Empathy Workshops on 5 – 6 December 2019.

A summer short course on Vinaya will be taught by Professor Shayne Clarke (of McMaster University) at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. It is being run as an intensive class (3 hours per day) between Feb 10 and 19, 2020.

History of Remembrance Day
At 11am on 11 November 1918 the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. This is commemorated every year in Australia with Remembrance Day events at cenotaphs in every village, town and city. Remembrance Day is a significant memorial in the life of Australia as a nation.
