Faith Ecology Network will conduct another of their Ten Ways to Care workshops on Wednesday 26 February. This event will be online. The focus will be on Forest Ecology and collaboration with groups who are helping protect forests, especially for the Great Koala National Park. Presenters come from Uniting Church Forest Chaplaincy and a Prominent Ecologist.

The Ten Ways draw from First Nations peoples, scientists, activists, community groups and faith traditions to inspire and guide us to care for Biodiversity.

A guide to help your community engage in activities that encourage care for our common home, the Ten Ways involve first listening and learning, then reflecting, followed by acting. It then continues in a constant learning, reflecting and acting cycle.

This resource has been developed by the Faith and Ecology Network (FEN), an Australian interfaith network of people connecting faith with ecological awareness and care. It is designed to help faith and other communities delve deeper into Faith Ecology Network’s Ten Ways to Care for Biodiversity framework, Session 4 of our workshop series will cover:
Learn from the ecological Sciences, and
Collaborate with and learn from local groups, featuring:

Presenters:
Mark Graham – Ecologist and prominent advocate for our life support systems. He maintains a network of private conservation reserves around Bellingen and Dorrigo where he also does research, develops media and documentaries and works tirelessly to protect the public forest estate within the Great Koala National Park.

Dr Miriam Pepper – Forest Advocacy Ministry, a work of members of the Uniting Church and the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), and lead author of the book “Breaches: Profiling the recent history of logging breaches by Forestry Corporation of NSW“.
