Nonviolent Conflict Transformation Program

Efrat Wolfson will conduct a the Nonviolent Conflict Transformation Program at St Joseph’s Flexible Learning Centre North Melbourne, on the weekend of Saturday-Sunday 7-8th of March 2015.

The Nonviolent Conflict Transformation Program is based on three main conceptual frameworks and attitudes, woven together to create a framework with which we can analyze, understand and transform conflicts in a nonviolent way and bring about positive personal and social change:

1. Conflict Transformation

2. Nonviolence

3. Positive Activism

Furthermore, the program incorporates tools such as Nonviolent Communication (NVC), Theatre of the Oppressed and more.

The program is suitable for youth workers, teachers, social workers, community leaders, participants in faith-based groups, people who work in environments of conflict/violence and generally – anyone who is interested in learning some inspiring powerful ways of engaging creatively with conflicts!

The training will explore the following topics:

  • How to engage with conflicts as opportunities for positive growth and change (rather than a problem to be “fixed”)
  • Practical & Applicable Tools for Conflict Transformation such as: Nonviolent Communication (NVC), Conflict Mapping, and more.
  • Positive Activism – how can we “be the change we want to see in the world”?
  • Theatre of the Oppressed – practicing ways of dealing with violence
  • Cross-Cultural conflicts – issues to be aware of when working with a culturally-diverse group.
  • Fun, dynamic, effective tools and activities to use with your community/class/staff/group.
  • Individuals and groups who will attend the training will gain a 20% discounted access to the full online NCT Program to use in their org/community for an unlimited time.
