Canberra: Unity Ride to Divine Steps Festival

Ride for Unity LogoCanberra Sikh Gurduara will flag off riders to the Divine Steps Festival in Sydney on the morning of Saturday 9 November circa 6:30 am for a 7am departure by the riders.

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the Canberra Gurdwara (Sikh Temple, 15 Hickey Ct, Weston ACT) from 630-7am on Saturday 9 Nov 2019 for a momentous event.

Ride for Unity, in collaboration with the Divine Steps Festival 2019 (celebrating the 550th birth anniversary of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak and share his universal message of equality, sharing and caring) – will host a Charity Bike Ride from Canberra to Sydney.

Riders, including Devraj Singh Grewal who initiated the Ride for Unity as a Primary School Project, back in 2014, will embark on the 16 hour / 350km bicycle ride, stopping at other faith centres along the way and raise funds to support Can Too Foundation and Youth Off The Streets who do wonderful work for diverse communities. The ride connects Canberra to Sydney, culminating at Pyrmont Bay Park in Darling Harbour, with Charity Walks, multi-faith concert, exhibition and free-community meals.

It would be an immense honour to have you join us this Saturday to support the riders, to give your blessings and send them off on this journey.

Your support at this short notice is much appreciated – local MLAs will also be joining us for this brief ceremony.
