NSW: Visit to Sikh Gurdwara

Members of the Religions for Peace NSW Branch paid a visit to the Sikh Mission Centre in Austral, in the outer western suburbs of Sydney.

There were Baha’i, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh together at Austral Gurdwara on 27 October, hosted by the two Sikh members of RfP (NSW), Ajmer Gil who is president of the Sikh Council of Australia , and Bawa Jagdev secretary of the Council.

We all appreciated that the Gurdwara was specially opened for us on this occasion so that we could see and learn about the Sikh religion, customs and history. We were also treated to the warm and generous hospitality of a superb vegan lunch and as always, sitting around a table sharing good food is interfaith in action.
