>A gentle vigil will be held at 5pm on Saturday 12th July in Rymill Park near the bridge. There, 983 candles will be lit to symbolise the 983 children currently held in indefinite detention.

We gather to lament together, and to express our sorrow for children in detention. There will be some singing and poetry and silence.

This is for people of all faiths, or no particular faith –- our gathering point is a shared concern for children in detention. Very suitable for people of all stages, including children and their families.

Children are encouraged to bring a soft toy, a poignant symbol of the children in detention.

The event will take place on Saturday July 12 at 5pm at Rymill Park (off East Terrace, Adelaide CBD – meet at the lake in the centre of the park).
