Sanctioned by the South African High Commission in Canberra the official Memorial Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Nelson Mandela will be held at 5.30pm on Monday 16 December at St Peter’s Cathedral, North Adelaide.
Sanctioned by the South African High Commission in Canberra the official Memorial Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Nelson Mandela will be held at 5.30pm on Monday 16 December at St Peter’s Cathedral, North Adelaide.
It is expected that representatives from the South African High Commission in Canberra and the Hawke Centre, along with state and civic leaders, members of trades unions, expat South Africans and members of the public will attend this multi-faith service.
The date chosen has particular significance being a public holiday in South Africa known as the Day of Reconciliation.
Interfaith practitioners and representatives from the Multifaith Association of South Australia will be attending the memorial service. .
