The Islamic Centre of Victoria hosted its second rural Interfaith Iftar, this year in Ararat, on Saturday 19th May 2018. In partnership with AIWA – Ararat Islamic Welfare Association, 150 guests attended the event.
In partnership with AIWA – Ararat Islamic Welfare Association, 150 guests (Muslim and non-Muslim) both from local area and metropolitan Melbourne attended the Interfaith community Iftar at the Gum San Great Hall. The Iftar reflected local community spirits of support for the new mosque project in fostering respect and better understandings for our rural Muslim communities.

In his address, ICV President Mohammed Mohideen shared his messages of social cohesion and peaceful co-existence “your support and presence tonight go a long way to strengthen the ties and understandings with Victoria’s diverse Muslim and regional multicultural communities”.
The third Interfaith Iftar, for 2019 was also announced to be held in Gippsland.
