Young UN Women Australia Brisbane Chapter invites women to attend the national Women, Peace and Security workshops on Saturday 3 August 2013.
The Brisbane workshop will be held on Saturday 3 August 2013 from 10am until 1pm at the West End Community House, 155a Boundary Street, West End 4101.
Participation is free however donations will be appreciated. All proceeds from this workshop will go towards the UN Women’s work with women and girls in Afghanistan. The workshops are intended to provide a forum for educating and promoting awareness of women, peace and security in an engaging and informative setting.
The workshop activities will be facilitated by Young UN Women members and will include mediation exercises, discussions and presentations on why women are so important in peace and security processes, the difficulties involved with women in conflict as well as the UN and Australian efforts in addressing these difficulties.
