Program for Interfaith Public Forum – 2013 Multicultural Festival
Morning Session (10.00 am – 12.00 noon)
- Baha’i Devotional Meeting, presented by the ACT Baha’i Community
- Brief introduction to ‘Raja Yoga Meditation’ followed by meditation, presented by Panna Patel, Coordinator of the ACT Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Centre
- Brief introduction to Zen and its practices, such as sitting and walking meditation, presented by Canberra Soto Zen Group
- Presentation of Hymn Singing as an integral part of Tongan Christian worship by Toe Tatalanoa Congregation, Canberra City Uniting Church
- Presentation about how Hindu Puja is performed
- Demonstration of how and why Muslims pray the way they do
- Performance of Gurbani Kirtan (devotional singing) by Canberra Sikh Community
- Demonstration of the Jewish rite on the eve of the Sabbath, by Janet Frommer, National Council of Jewish Women.
- Meeting for Worship presented by Canberra Quakers (Religious Society of Friends)
- Devotional singing by Sathya Sai Organisation
- Spiritual practice of ‘Giving Light’, presented by Canberra Sukyo Mahikari Community
