The alliance of religious progressives in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific Common Dreams International Conference: Progressive Spirituality – New Directions in Brisbane, 16 – 19 September, 2016.
COMMON DREAMS is an alliance of Australian and New Zealand kindred organisations which promote the study, discussion and implementation of Progressive Christian and other progressive religious streams of thought and action. Its principal method of pursuing these objectives is through its major “Common Dreams” conferences which are held each three years plus the promotion of visits by leading international scholars and the sale and distribution of the materials that result from these activities.
The fourth Common Dreams Conference will be held in Brisbane 16 – 19 September 2016. The theme of the conference will be “Progressive Spirituality: New Directions”. Eminent international, Australian and New Zealand speakers will explore aspects of contemporary progressive spirituality including indigenous and inter-faith expressions of spirituality.
The conference will bring together a large number of people with an interest in progressive religion. The theme of the conference – Progressive Spirituality: New Directions – will allow participants to explore future expressions of faith and spirituality as well as eco-theology, inter-faith dialogue, and indigenous spirituality.
A series of lectures, keynote addresses and electives by a distinguished panel of International and Australian speakers will examine Christian, Muslim, Jewish and Aboriginal expressions of spirituality. Click on these links for full details of the Program, Speakers and Presentation Extracts.
